The Phools Parade was established in 2010 by a group of local artists and arts organizers. Eileen Brand Hedley, Melanie Cronin and G. Steve Jordan came up with the idea of creating another grand ART event in New Paltz, NY. Our first parade, held on a gray day threatening rain, an overwhelming response of 250 participants came from near and far to express their many varied and creative sides.

Main Street in New Paltz closed to traffic and welcomed, instead, a parade populated by double-headed Loch Ness Monsters, hula-hoopers, giant birds, musicians, children’s groups and fantastic individual efforts.
